Tenure and Promotion Support Committee

Charge/Duties

The Tenure and Promotion Support Committee is a Standing Committee of the Smathers Libraries established to offer support to faculty through the tenure and promotion process by providing a series of workshops offered strategically throughout the year. The Committee meets once a year in the last quarter to review content and develop the workshop schedule for the coming calendar year. Workshops are scheduled January through October. Each member of the committee is responsible for scheduling and coordinating the delivery of several of the annual workshops.

Membership

  • Appointed by the Associate Dean for Administrative Services and Faculty Affairs, in consultation with Chairs and Associate Deans
  • 6 faculty members with 1 member from the Health Science Center Libraries, when possible, and 1 member from the Legal Information Center
  • Member of the Human Resources Office will serve as a full member of the committee on an ongoing basis
  • Three year terms, with half the membership changing each November 1st
