The Global Engagement Committee addresses strategic areas of opportunity for the Libraries to be a
dynamic University partner in strengthening and expanding its global reach. The Committee promotes
library services through outreach and engages with stakeholders for increased globalization to enhance
the effectiveness of the Libraries.
Objectives
- Advance UF’s mission by contributing to teaching, research, and other activities that enhance
and express UF’s global presence - Research and implement best practices for the academic success of international students,
students studying abroad, faculty, and visiting scholars - Promote distinctive global information resources and workshops created and/or supported by
the Libraries - Provide globally welcoming library environments
- Promote and provide opportunities for library employees to build global competencies, engage
in international experiences, and forge global connections - Advocate for and facilitate international partnerships
Goals
Specific goals will be developed each year by the committee in consultation with the Associate Dean.
Membership
Membership will include representatives from across the Libraries’ branches.

Duration
The make-up of the committee shall follow:
- Co-Chairs serving staggered two-year terms, with a maximum of two consecutive terms
- At least 5 Members serving two-year terms, with a maximum of two consecutive terms
Meetings
The committee will meet monthly or as needed to advance its objectives, with additional subgroups formed to address specific projects or initiatives.
Responsible Dean
The committee reports to the Associate Dean for Research
